Kapture · Proof of Yes
They said yes. Now you can prove it.
Proof your buyers agreed to your terms. Kapture records each buyer's checkout: the price they saw, the terms next to the box, the click and the time. The record stays in your own storage, one tenth of a cent per buyer.
2,000 free tokens for new accounts. No credit card needed.
What you get
- The checkout record. Every field, the price and the terms as this buyer saw them, and the moment they clicked yes.
- The exact terms they accepted. The wording next to the checkbox, the tick and the time, kept in the record.
- A buyer ID on the order. Each record gets a kap_vid that rides with the order and comes back through the API and signed webhooks.
- E-sign when you need a signature. Terms, service agreements and refund rules. The signing is recorded too.
- An optional phone code. Text the buyer a code through your own SMS provider to confirm the number is theirs.
- Your storage, your records. Records are tamper-proof and live in your own bucket. They stay if you leave.
Three jobs, one record
| When this happens | The record shows |
|---|---|
| A buyer disputes a charge: “I cancelled,” “I never agreed to the refund policy,” “not what I ordered” | The policy and description on their screen, and their click to accept. See which chargebacks it helps with |
| Someone challenges your terms or your arbitration clause | That the terms were in plain view and the buyer clicked to agree |
| Someone asks about an auto-renewal | The renewal terms they saw and the yes they gave before the first charge |
A record proves what happened. Whether your terms hold up depends on the terms themselves. Have counsel review them. This is not legal advice.

What it won't do
Proof of Yes doesn't stop fraud chargebacks (“I didn't make this purchase”). 3-D Secure and wallets like Apple Pay handle those. It doesn't guarantee you win a dispute; a bank or a judge decides. Banks read documents, not recordings, so you send stills and details from the record, not the recording itself.
Kapture starts recording only after your notice or consent click, and always masks card fields. Check your setup with your lawyer.
Questions
- Is a ticked box in my database not enough?
- It shows a box was ticked. It doesn't show what the buyer saw next to it. A Kapture record shows both, for this buyer, at that moment.
- Which disputes does Proof of Yes help with?
- The ones decided on your terms: cancelled orders and subscriptions, refund-policy disputes, and "not as described." Card rules ask merchants to show the policy was disclosed and accepted. It does not stop fraud chargebacks.
- Is it legal to record my checkout?
- Kapture records only after your notice or consent click, and never records card numbers. Wiretap laws differ by state, so check your setup with your lawyer.
- Does it work if my checkout is hosted by someone else?
- Kapture records pages you host. If your checkout runs on a page you don't control, record the step where the buyer accepts your terms, such as your sign-up, cart or terms page, or use a Kapture form. The kap_vid ties the record to the order.
- Can I use it with my dispute tool?
- Yes. Keep your dispute tool or your processor's, and give it stills and details from the record.
- What does the phone code cost?
- It runs through your own SMS provider at their rate. Each record is $0.001.
