TrackDrive vs. Kurrent

TrackDrive's own pricing page numbers its charges 1 through 11 — tracking numbers, call minutes on three routes, SMS, spam mitigation, per-action fees, rejected calls, ping/post, transcription and recording retention — priced across six committed-use tiers from Pay As You Go up to an $8,000-a-month commitment. Local Tracking alone runs $0.0550 a minute at Pay As You Go, falling to $0.0250 only if you commit $8,000 a month. Kurrent charges none of it: one monthly fee, with minutes on your own Telnyx account at Telnyx’s price, from $0.0032 a minute.

Total cost, side by side

Read the number TrackDrive itself puts on the page: eleven separate charges, numbered 1 through 11, each with its own rate at each of six committed-use tiers. That is not our framing — it is theirs. A buyer forecasting a monthly bill has to price out tracking numbers, three separate per-minute routes (local, toll-free, outbound), SMS sent, spam-tag mitigation, per-action fees, rejected calls, ping/post lookups, AI transcription and recording retention, and know which of six commitment levels they are buying at before any of those rates apply. Careful with that last part: every discounted rate on TrackDrive's page is paired with a specific monthly commitment, and quoting the cheaper number without naming the commitment it requires prices a deal TrackDrive does not sell. Local Tracking is $0.0550/min at Pay As You Go and $0.0250/min only at an $8,000/mo commit — nothing in between those two numbers is free.

Run TrackDrive's own Pay As You Go rates at a stated volume: a desk tracking 500,000 local minutes and 50,000 toll-free minutes a month, on 100 tracking numbers. Local Tracking is 500,000 × $0.0550 = $27,500. Toll Free Tracking is 50,000 × $0.0600 = $3,000. Numbers are 100 × $4.00 = $400. That is $30,900 before a single call is transcribed, and before rejected calls or SMS are counted. On Kurrent, the same lines run on your own Telnyx account at cost, published on /kurrent: 500,000 × $0.0032 (local) = $1,600, 50,000 × $0.015 (toll-free) = $750, and 100 numbers from $1.00/mo = $100. That is $2,450 for the identical minutes and numbers. Take that out of TrackDrive’s $30,900 and $28,450 is software. Kurrent’s fee is half of that, $14,225. With the minutes, the month comes to about $16,675 on Kurrent: $14,225 less (our math). TrackDrive’s Pay As You Go local rate is about 17 times the Telnyx rate, before either side’s software fee.

Two of TrackDrive's eleven separate charges are worth stopping on, because a reader would not expect either. Rejected calls cost extra — item 8 on TrackDrive's own page. A call that never connects still costs $0.0250 at Pay As You Go, or $0.0050 at the $8,000/mo tier; 10,000 rejected calls a month is $250 or $50 depending which tier you are on, for calls nobody answered. Kurrent has no line for this at all. Keeping recordings costs extra too — item 11. Keeping a recording costs $0.00040 per minute retained, per month, at Pay As You Go, falling to $0.00015 only at the deepest tier; at 500,000 minutes recorded that is $200 a month, or $75 at $8,000/mo committed. Kurrent's recordings land in your own R2 or S3 bucket instead, at your own storage rate: /kurrent publishes $0.015/GB/mo on Cloudflare R2, and 500,000 minutes of call audio at 32 kbps mono is roughly 120 GB — about $1.80 a month, the same conversion the site's own storage line uses.

Three more charges round out the eleven, each following the identical shape — a Pay As You Go rate, and a lower one that requires a committed spend. SMS Out is $0.0400/message, falling to $0.0150 at $8,000/mo. Per Action is $0.00250, falling to $0.00060. Ping/Post is $0.1200 per thousand, falling to $0.0200. Spam Tag Mitigation is $5.00/mo, falling to $2.00. And AI Transcription is $0.0350/min, falling to $0.0200 — at 500,000 transcribed minutes that is $17,500 at Pay As You Go or $10,000 at $8,000/mo committed, against roughly $333 on your own Groq key at Kurrent's published $0.04/hour, the same math /kurrent runs for its own transcription line. Kurrent has no charge for any of the eleven. Its monthly fee is 50% off the call-tracking bill you already pay, with a minimum of $1,795/mo.

TrackDrive: Pay As You Go, no commitment, no onboarding fee. Sign up with a card. Kurrent: one monthly fee, 50% off your bill, minimum $1,795/mo, set up with you, no free trial.

TrackDrive’s committed-use ladder lowers every rate for a committed spend. At $8,000 a month, Local Tracking falls from $0.0550 to $0.0250 and Toll Free Tracking from $0.0600 to $0.0300, and the other charges fall by similar margins. TrackDrive is the only vendor in this set that discounts that way.

At every tier, TrackDrive bills all eleven charges. The rates fall with commitment but do not reach zero. Kurrent has none of the eleven charges; its fee is set against your current call-tracking invoice.
